Each life contains times of transition and uncertainty: some of joy and re-building, some of pain and struggle. Our beliefs about ourselves are often rooted in experiences of mis-attunement (not being seen for who we are) and oppression. Therapy that is attuned to us as individuals provides a working pathway to resilience, growth, and healing – not to mold an individual to fit the oppressive system, but to explore and strengthen your sense of self and purpose. In partnership with you, our therapists build an affirming, safe, wholistic, and respectful alliance to use in fostering a stronger sense of your connection with yourself. We believe that each of us can create more satisfying relationships with ourselves and others that lead to more meaningful lives.
We work together with clients to understand and rework unhelpful beliefs that underlie our feelings and behavior. Clients often find that growing to value their authentic selves with self-compassion can lead to joy and meaning. New skills, insights, and capacity can be powerful outgrowths of prioritizing our mental-health and well-being. Our therapists are grounded in mind-body-spirit connections, cultural humility, and social justice frameworks, as well as extensive therapeutic training and experience.
We respectfully/humbly acknowledge that we live and work on the ancestral lands of the Mattapanient, the Patuxent, the Piscataway, the Moyaone, and the Pamunkey.
We stand against racism and oppression.
